Celebrate Sacramento’s coffee habit during Specialty Coffee Week

Coffee Week is a great time to enjoy Sacramento's vibrant coffee scene.

Coffee is an important part of many people's mornings, which is something the people of Sacramento know all too well. To celebrate caffeination, the city hosts Specialty Coffee Week, a 7-day festival focused on roasting, brewing and making art out of this delicious beverage.

Beginning on October 13, residents of Sacramento will be able to attend a wide variety of coffee-focused events, including tastings, seminars on brewing the perfect cup, how to craft coffee-based cocktails, roasting and much more. In addition to black gold, coffee liquors, beers and other varieties of beverages based on coffee will also be enjoyed throughout the week.

The Sacramento Bee noted that the city's coffee scene has been burgeoning for some time now, with many cafe's hosting some of the various tastings and other events. Attendee's can even learn about some of the latest in brewing techniques that help accentuate flavors or make a stronger cup, depending on their preferences.

Furthermore, several films, including "Black Gold" and "A Film About Coffee" will be screened on Thursday, October 16, at the Pachamama Coffee Cooperative, 919 20th Street (in the alley), and the Crest Theater, 1013 K St., respectively.

Of course, coffee isn't the only beverage celebrated in Sacramento. In February the city also hosts its annual Beer Week.
