Sacramento residents get to be some of the first to see the latest technology and designs in the automotive world at the annual Sacramento International Auto Show at Cal Expo. Featuring about 40 of 2015's models from domestic and foreign manufacturers, the show highlights some of the innovations happening in today's cars while maintaining appeal for a broad audience.
"We completely redesigned the look of most of the auto show this year, concentrating on adding new elements and additional family areas," Stacey Castle, head of Castle Communications Inc., and show producer, told The Sacramento Bee. "With the auto show as large as it is, we felt it important to have decompression areas and additional activities for the kids."
Aston Martin, Buick, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ferrari, Fiat, Ford, Jeep and Toyota were just a few of the manufacturers showing off their latest models at the expo.
The show, hosted from October 17 to 19, also offers a Kid Zone, featuring a wide variety of car-themed entertainment, including movies, games and more. For adults, there will be plenty of excitement as well, from RC Drifting competitions to an antique motorcycle collection. Admission is a low $12 for adults, $7 for children 13-17, $5 for children between 8 and 12 and Kids under 8 entering for free.
The show is hosted by the Greater Sacramento New Car Dealers Associations, which uses proceeds from the expo to fund technical schools and automotive programs at local high schools.
