Rocklin residents gearing up for annual Hot Chili and Cool Cars event

Enjoy delicious chili and check out the area's coolest classic cars at this Rocklin event.

Do you like chili? Love classic cars? Then mark your calendars, because the town of Rocklin in beautiful Placer County is gearing up for its 20th annual Hot Chili and Cool Cars event! The Rocklin Chamber of Commerce expects 15,000 people to gather on Pacific Street for a full day of family-friendly fun.

Some of the area's most popular and historic classic cars will be on parade, all vying to win the yearly contest. You'll be able to get an up close and personal look at American automotive history. Meanwhile, the best chili cooks in the greater Sacramento region will also be competing as they show off their skills at the stove. The winner of the chili cook-off will take home bragging rights for the coming year.

The kids are sure to love this event as well. There will be a bounce house, climbing wall, face painting, arts and crafts and games to keep them entertained for hours. The Groove Thang band is slated to provide live music entertainment.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The chamber reports that chili booths are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, so don't delay! If you're famous in your family for your amazing, top-secret chili recipe, line up to test your skills against other great area cooks. Sponsorships are also available for local businesses.

Family friendly events like this annual tradition are part of what makes Rocklin and the surrounding towns such a wonderful place to raise children. If you are interested in seeing Placer County homes for sale, contact me, top real estate agent Jon Hesse today!
