For those living in the River City itself or in the surrounding area, the fourth annual Sacramento Food & Film Festival is one of the best examples of the excitement available here. This year, the festival will be held from March 18 through March 29.

Featuring film screenings from some of the area's top talent focused on food and culinary-related activities. While the festival is still currently accepting submissions, there are to be three categories of films. Local Farm to Fork are to be shot in the surround area, including Sacramento, Yolo, Placer, El Dorado, Yuba and Sutter counties, while American, International and Youth categories are also open to wide varieties of films. The winners of the short film contest will be screened on the first day of the festival.

All proceeds of the festival go to the Food Literacy Center.

In addition to the films, the festivals presents a variety of culinary works from some of the area's top chefs. Meals will include offerings from Michael Thiemann, Mike Lim, Scott Ostrander, Tyler Bond, Joe Pruner and many more. Most of the events will be held in the restaurants of the featured chefs.
