Do you think you have what it takes to be the next El Dorado Idol? The annual voice competition will take place at the El Dorado County Fair in June. All local contestants are invited to compete in a preliminary round. The three winners will then vie for the title of El Dorado Idol 2014 in the final competition. Singers will be judged on vocal talent, stage presence and entertainment appeal.
Any solo singer who resides in El Dorado County is invited to enter by calling the El Dorado County Fair office by June 11, 2014. The preliminary round will be held June 14, 2014, at 3:30 p.m., and the final contest will be on June 15, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. Both rounds will take place on the Budweiser Stage at the fairgrounds.
Kids are invited to participate, but anyone under the age of 18 should be sure to submit a signed parental consent form to the fair office in time for the preliminary competition.
This year's El Dorado County Fair will be June 12, 2014, through June 15, 2014. Other popular, family-friendly events will include live concerts, cooking demonstrations, livestock shows and wheelbarrow races, along with all the funnel cake and fair food you can eat.
