We always say that Sacramento is the perfect city to call home, but apparently it's purrrrr-fect as well. Real estate website Movoto has released a list of the best cities in the nation for cats and their owners, and Sacramento claimed a spot in the top 10.
The authors of the list considered data from the nation's 100 largest cities, taking into account factors like number of cat events, amount of traffic, annual number of sunny days and pet stores and vets per capita. According to Movoto, cats also prefer cities with less traffic.
Tucson, Arizona, came in first on the list, followed by Las Vegas. Sacramento took eighth place, beating out Jacksonville, Florida, and Riverside, California.
"Sacramento is definitely all about cat love. If you don't believe it, just check out the name of their local baseball team, the River Cats," the story reads. "There are a decent number of pet stores, a few cat-themed events, many bird species, and a lot of sunny days to bask in. Honestly, there's no real downside to relocating your people to this city."
We couldn't agree more. So if Sacramento's cats rule, do the city's dogs drool? Not quite. Movoto acknowledges that Sacramento is also a very dog-friendly town with a lot of canines available for adoption.
