"Imagine how a seller feels when you announce at the last minute that you'll visit next week instead. Or you simply don't show up, without an explanation."
- Ignoring house rules - It's essential to remember that even though individuals are trying to sell a home, they still live there for the time being. As such, prospective buyers must be polite and respectful. Sellers will typically set ground rules that will be included in the showing instructions and enforced by a Sacramento real estate agent. Be sure to follow these guidelines. It's also important to leave the house exactly the way it was when you entered it. For example, be sure to turn off the lights, close the blinds and lock the doors.
- Showing up unannounced before closing – While it makes sense for you to be there during the home inspection and final walkthrough, you want to avoid stopping by unless you have made arrangements to do so through your agent. Keep in mind that the seller is working hard to get the property ready for you, and you don't want to disrupt this process.
