Recently, there has been a series of restaurant closings in Sacramento, leaving some residents of the Golden State capital looking for new spots where they can enjoy tasty food. Fortunately, the Sacramento Bee reports that there are a few new restaurants opening in the city, including the following:
Blackbird Kitchen Beer Gallery – If you were disappointed to hear that Blackbird had closed last fall, you'll be happy to know that owner/chef Carina Lampkin has a new restaurant at 1015 9th St. While the eatery will remain focused on seafood, the news outlet notes that there will be a "major emphasis on craft beer" and that the new establishment will "sport 50 tap handles featuring beer and cider."
Block Butcher Bar – Chef Michael Tuohy of LowBrau, a popular craft beer and sausage eatery in midtown, will create the menu for this new restaurant, which will feature meat-heavy dishes combining his butchering and fine dining experience. "Whereas LowBrau is known for its large and intelligently curated beer lists, Block will focus on whiskey and related spirits, along with house-made bitters," states the source.
Plan B – Looking for a great place to get dishes like tiger prawns, grilled rib-eye, salmon and mussels? You may want to check out Plan B's second location, a midtown cafe that will have extended late-night hours.
Sacramento's many great restaurants put it right on par with nearby San Francisco, which is just one of the many reasons why people relocate from the expensive, congested Bay Area to the Greater Sacramento area.
