Make the most out of your yard and patio by spending time outdoors

Get more out of your yard this summer.

Do you ever enjoy a morning cup of coffee outside? When was the last time you and your family had dinner al fresco? One of the best ways to get more out of your property is to spend regular time outdoors. It's all too easy in our hectic day-to-day routines to neglect such simple pleasures, but buying some comfortable patio furniture will go a long way toward getting you and your family out in the fresh air this summer. Here are some tips to remember as you shop:

Daydream

Take some time to ponder all the ways you'd like to use your outdoor space. Do you hope to have dinner outside once a week? You'll need a table and chairs. Would you love to curl up with a good book under the maple tree? Invest in a cozy chaise lounge. Identifying your goals for the yard and patio will inform what kind of furniture you buy.

Perform a comfort check

Try before you buy! Take some time to really test any furniture before you purchase it. That deck chair might look cute, but if it isn't comfortable then you probably won't  use it. Don't waste the money and space.

Perform a quality check

Be sure you aren't sacrificing quality in the name of a good deal. Consumer Reports says wood joints should fit closely together, and nuts and bolts should be capped to guard against rust.
